learning the abc's

learning your ABCDeraire

One of the many surprising things in coming to France is that they don't WRITE the same here as they do in Kyliemac's America.

When I was teaching the little people, they had difficulty understanding my cursive writing, and I would have to resort to printing everything in order to make sure they understood it.

And don't even get me STARTED on the numbers business...

Oh.my.gosh. It is the same with Italian! what don't we use the same basic alphabet - how can there be different ways to write it!?! lol

OH that was the most annoying thing about teaching the little ones. I can't write well on a blackboard (I blame it on the left handedness) so I would just write in print (as a teacher in my America would with small children, because we don't learn cursive until age 9!!). The children had no idea how to respond to my print. They all thought that they had to write just like I did, and so they would slave away trying to write in print. They have serious issues with copying everything exactly.
